Enjoy incredibly varied and dramatic scenery in Marocco, Iceland, Scotland, Utah and Arizona. For instance, on our bike journey in Scotland, you will bike from purple-tingled moorlands to ancient pinewood forests (the Caledonian forests) with fresh lochs, to mystical Highland mountains, ending on coastal trails in Lord Of the Rings sea landscapes. Or, Our Arizona trip combines biking in the Cactus Hills of the Sonaran Desert with deep Black Canyon riding and magnificient Red Rock riding in Sedona. Our destinations are perfect for people looking for the unexpected : biking in the Icelandic land of Lava, trough the Red Canyons of Utah, in the Saguaro Cactus fields in Arizona Deserts, or on the Maroccan moonlandscapes. Beyond Biking combines the finest riding with the most unspoiled scenery the world has to offer.

A Beyond Biking trips also means fine dining with a local touch : In Marrokko, a berber cooking crew will accompanie you, preparing dishes such as tagines or couscous, bought daily with fresh ingredients at the local market. In Arizona, you will discover New Mexican cuisine, in Scotland we’ve selected some preferred restaurant serving local dishes as Haggis or local seafood, brought by the fischerman straight to your plate. You will enjoy local food culture.

Your accommodation is every bit as varied as the trip itself. Sleeping arrangements range from upper class lodges to local guesthouses to scenic campsites. We only select accomodations with five star views and a local touch: In Marrocco, we’ve selected berber guesthouse, typical riads and kasbah’s. As in Arizona, we look for desert lodges and Wild West Ranches. We avoid tourist crowds and find authentic experiences.

All Beyond Biking journeys are unique and exclusively created with local experts, according to the heavy standaards of the Beyond Biking concept. All Beyond Biking trips are executed by local experts.

RIDING SURFACE

This tour is fun and swooping with a few short, technical sections – namely rocky ascents with flowing, downhill single tracks. The smooth, crushed granite makes it easy enough for novices, but with enough curving, hard-cranking elevation gains and smooth-gliding for the hardcore enthusiasts. It’s a rollercoaster ride that’s can be challenging in places, but is absolutely thrilling.

AVERAGE MILEAGE

The Quadruple Bypass is only 33 miles long, but features over 6000 feet of rocky single-track climbing. If you prefer to begin your ride with something more exploratory, you can opt for the Double Bypass route, combining Dixie Mine Hill and Sunrise Climb – a 23-mile ride with an ascent of more than 4000 feet. Alternatively, you can combine Windgate and Bell Pass – 10 introductory miles with 1600 feet climbing. Days two and three will see an average of 30 miles of cycling per day – sometimes more, with a total ascent of around 1500 feet, but again, flexibilty is an option. The Mountain Regional Park also offers lots of choice with varying degrees of difficulty and the ability to string add-on miles – as does the nearby competitive track.
