THE TRAIL

Grand mesas, vertical rock formations and deep canyons go head-to-head with inactive volcanoes and vast rolling arroyos at the Hurricane Cliffs. A trail network stringing together a 38km (24mi) loop, it combines the Goulds Rim, JEM and Hurricane Rim trails. Goulds is a fun, fast-flowing single track romp that skirts a canyon’s edge. Next, you bomb down the JEM trail, one of the most popular rides in all of south-west Utah. Finally, you’ll head west on the Hurricane Rim Trail where rocky single track slowly ascends then sharply descends back to the beginning while views of the Virgin River Gorge provide a stunning backdrop.

RIDING SURFACE

The Hurricane Cliffs Trail System is not too technical, save for a few spots. This intermediate level trail is a roller coaster ride with great vistas, easy climbing, fast-flowing descents and a few technical sections.

AVERAGE DISTANCE

This trail is 38km (24mi) on mostly cruisy, single track, with an ascent of approximately 600m (2000ft). If you want to take it easy, relax poolside at the Cliffrose Lodge & Gardens or take a hike in the Zion National Park.
