Flights. Travel or flight costs and charges for travelling with your bike (if applicable) are additional. Please check with your airline carrier for bike carriage charges on your flight(s). Flights should not be booked until you have received your Beyond Biking booking confirmation.
The best access point for this trip is Aberdeen Dyce International Airport. We suggest arriving on Saturday by noon, because a fly & bike day is scheduled. KLM, British Airways, Air France, Lufthansa, Flybe, SAS and Aer Lingus all fly directly to Aberdeen. If you can’t get a direct flight, you may need to travel via London, Amsterdam or one of the other airports in Scotland (Glasgow International, Glasgow Prestwick, Edinburgh and Inverness.
Airport transfers. We meet in Aberdeen for our bike journey. Typically, we don’t include airport transfers, as there are too many variables (depending on the number of people bringing their own bikes and which airport you will be arriving at). We can arrange all airport transfers for the group once your full flight information is confirmed. Or you make your own way from the airport to our meeting place in Aberdeen by bus or train (we will provide more information on booking).
Bike hire. In Scotland, you will be riding on brand-new 29-er Lapierre bikes. Included in the hire are helmets and spares including brake pads, inner tubes, chain links and rear mech hangers. The price is £175 for a hardtail and £275 for a full-suspension bike for the whole trip. The bike hire is a fixed price from our preferred hire partner in Scotland. Beyond Biking does not charge a mark-up. Prices do not include spare parts like spare tubes, replacement derailleur hangers or others.
Drinks. We do not provide any drinks, alcoholic or otherwise, during the day or with evening meals.
Single room. For an additional cost, single room options may be available, if requested.
Travel Insurance. It is a condition of joining any of our trips that you are insured against medical and personal accident risks (to include repatriation costs, air ambulance and helicopter rescue services). You will need to advise us of your policy details and complete an insurance declaration form. Beyond Biking recommends Allianz Adventure & Survival Assistance (for EU residents), Campbell Irvine (for UK residents), Travelex (for US residents) and IMG Globe Hoppers (worldwide). These companies offer the ultimate in travel protection and emergency travel assistance, and their policies are especially designed for adventure holidays. You will need to arrange your own insurance directly. We strongly recommend that you take out holiday cancellation insurance, as some deposits are non-refundable.
Others. Bar bills, telephone calls, souvenirs, entrance fees to cultural or historical sites, possible whisky tastings, spa treatments, personal clothing and equipment and all tips are not included.
